CYPRIOT

Cypriot traditional dances are a key manifestation of the oral and traditional musical culture of Cyprus. Cypriot traditional dances by men, women and children are a means of externalizing and communicating the identity and feelings of Cypriots, a way of having fun and demonstrating the artistic sensitivity and ability of the dancer. They are associated with important moments in the private/family and collective/community life of Cypriots everywhere, such as: religious holidays, weddings, feasts, etc.

GREEK

The roots of the dance in Greece can be traced back to around 1000 BC. The traditional dances in Greece show a great variety. Each region or village has its own dances, which differ from region to region or even from village to village. This difference of dances is due to reasons like climate, lifestyle of the inhabitants, wars and disasters and others.
